Jerusalem Bells Crying
Tears Under The Wounded Sky
Acrylic and ink on paper
This collection is a meditation on the bells of Jerusalem’s Holy Sepulchre—symbols of sorrow and sanctity—whose chimes echo through a city suspended between grief and grace.
Painted with acrylic and ink on paper, the works explore haunting duality: the bells, once solid and sonorous, begin to dissolve. Ink spills from their forms like tears—bleeding, uncontained, across the page.
Some bells melt under invisible weight, as if struck by arrows of unseen suffering. Others appear as quiet silhouettes, fading into the light. A few come close tangible yet still standing. Some lean toward each other, connected in defiance, whispering we are still here, we endure together.
These bells, though burdened by sorrow, carry the power to heal—each ring a balm for the soul, each echo a whisper of hope. Even as the city trembles, the bells sing of renewal, reminding us that in the deepest of struggles, hope lingers. Through their ancient song, we find healing, a reminder that even in the darkest moments, the possibility of light remains.
